With the pace of urban life hastening each year, fewer and fewer young people have the opportunity to experience nature as entirely as youth of the past. Some haven't left the city, others have never seen the sky ignite with a shimmering display of stars as the sun falls past the horizon. It is in these moments outside that we slow down, pay attention to what is directly before us, and reconnect with ourselves and others. No matter the course, there can be a place for outdoor camping within it. Aside from having access to plenty of natural materials for teaching, outdoor camping requires that students work together as a team. With one night and multi-day trips available, a night under the stars is a possibility for any group or time frame.
