​There are few activities that compete with snowshoeing and cross-country skiing when discussing truly northern activities. With evidence of these techniques being developed as early as 10, 000 years ago across the northern hemisphere (Scandinavia, Canada, China and Russia), their survival through our current technological revolution is a testament to their efficacy.
