CANADIAN ADVENTURE EXPEDITIONS
Introduction to Kayaking - Lake of Bays
Learn the basics of Kayaking on this beautiful nature-filled tour
Description
Kayaking is a unique way to enjoy the beauty of nature up close and to get some great exercise out on the water. During this 3 hour session, you'll learn how to properly enter and exit your kayak, try different paddling strokes and body positions, understand how to use onboard safety equipment, and explore the hidden bays and inlets of Lake of Bays. Meeting at Dwight Beach, we'll provide a quick introduction to your kayak and then venture out into the clear waters for a fun, adventurous tour to some of our favourite spots. We love kayaking, as it is a low impact sport not only on one’s body, but on the environment. Paddling is truly the best way to explore what the region has to offer. What we provide: • Equipment rentals, including kayak, safety gear, paddles, (unless you inform us that you will be using your own gear) • Expedition First Aid Kit • Communications devices • Dry bags for your personal items What you should bring: • Snacks and plenty of water to drink (try to pack everything in reusable containers) • Clothing and shoes that can get wet, as well as change of dry clothes • Rain jacket/windbreaker • Towel and bathing suit • Sunscreen, lip balm, hat, sunglasses with tether, buff/bandana • Paddling gloves (optional) • Insect repellant • Phone (and water protective case)/camera for photos!
